Safety tips
Most people on FreeBeg are exactly who they say they are. A few aren't. These habits keep you safe whether you're giving or asking.
When you give
- Only use the payment buttons on the request page. If someone sends you a different handle in a note, an email or a message, don't use it.
- Give small. FreeBeg works best as lots of people giving $5–$20. Never give more than you'd be okay losing.
- Look at the “About” box. How long they've been a member, whether past requests ended with a thank-you, and whether they've helped others.
- Watch for pressure. “Send it in the next hour or I lose everything,” or a story that keeps changing, are warning signs.
- Never send gift cards, crypto, or wire transfers to anyone you met on FreeBeg.
- Nobody needs your personal info to receive your gift — not your address, your login, or a “verification code.”
When you ask
- Nobody from FreeBeg will ever ask for your password or a code sent to your phone. Anyone who does is a scammer.
- “Send me $50 and I'll send you $500” is always a scam — so are “money flips,” “sugar daddy” offers, and anyone who wants to pay you by check and have you send part of it back.
- Check your actual app before confirming. Scammers send fake payment screenshots and fake “payment pending” emails. If it isn't in your Cash App, Venmo or PayPal balance, it didn't arrive.
- Don't post private details — no bank or card numbers, no Social Security number, no home address, no photos of your ID.
- Be careful with job offers. Real jobs never charge you to start, never ask you to cash checks, and never pay you to “reship” packages. See Ways to earn.
Spotted something wrong?
Every request has a Report this request link at the bottom of its “About” box. Reports go straight to a moderator. When a scam report is confirmed, the request is removed or the member gets a visible warning label so others know.
To warn us about something that isn't a single request — a pattern, a fake account, a scam message you got — use the contact form and choose “Report a scam.”
What FreeBeg checks
We confirm email addresses, review new members' first requests, block payment handles that show up on more than one account, and act on every report. We can't verify anyone's story or get money back — once it's sent, it's between you and your payment app. Most apps have their own way to report fraud; use it if you think you've been scammed.
