Need help for my mom with an illness
Hi, I really need help right now because my mom is super sick and I don’t know where else to turn. She’s always been pretty healthy but since 7 months ago, her health completely plummeted after she was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. Her kidneys are struggling to filter her blood properly, which causes severe anemia and fluid buildup leaving her constantly exhausted, pale, and far too weak to work. On top of just having to see her suffer physically, the stack of medical bills from her hospital stays, specialist appointments, and emergency tests has been piling up on the kitchen counter, and the total is around $19,000 now. Because she can’t work, we’re also running out of money for our basic rent, and every day she’s stressing out about us losing our place and getting evicted or having to file for bankruptcy. Seeing her cry over these papers when she’s supposed to be resting and recovering is breaking my heart We've used almost every bit of our savings
On top of the existing $19,000 balance, she has to stay on a strict daily maintenance medications including specialized blood pressure drugs, phosphate binders, and iron treatments to protect her remaining kidney function and keep her out of the hospital. These prescription costs add hundreds of dollars to our monthly bills, making it feel like we're constantly sinking deeper. Since I’m only a college student, I feel completely helpless, but I’m doing everything I possibly can to step up and take this burden off her shoulders. I’ve taken on every small job that'll fit my time I can find after school and just in general focusing on her too part time restaurant jobs, babysitting, or doing deliveries I’ve even sold a bunch of our own personal things up for sale online just to bring in a few extra bucks. But no matter how hard I work standard jobs just don't pay enough to cover a medical bill in enough time ongoing prescriptions, plus monthly rent before the next late notice arrives
I just want my mom to be able to focus on getting healthy and managing her condition instead of having anxiety over how we'll pay our rent, and going to the foodbank all the time to just have dinner for the day. She has spent her whole life taking care of me and the least i can do is take care of her aswell I never thought i would have to resort to begging for donations ever since we've always been stable until this illness completely changed everything. If anyone can help us out, share our situation, it would mean the absolute world to both of us.
