I was shook to the core over night
Its a mystery how I am still around, God is Good. I escaped 4 fires this past year but this last one shook me to my core. We lost everything including our Chihuahua Betty. The fire started on our front porch and had my grandmother who passed away many years ago was in my dream calmly telling me "Lover, you have to go outside now. I didn't get why that's all she kept saying to me nothing else. I had to use the bathroom and I fell back to sleep on the commode and my GMA started again"Lover, you have to go outside now " so I started down my stairs and half way down I looked up and my front door was glowing orange I turned to my right where we had a window and my front porch was engulfed in flames. I yelled to my husband to get up we have no time to grab anything the house is on fire. I yelled for our Chihuahua Betty and she didn't come my husband grabbed clothing to open the door had to then kick out the screen door and the whole frame collapsed on us as we ran through the flames. We literally lost everything except our dash he's a large Pit bull mix he was outside in his pen. All of our documents and credentials, memories, precious raw stones and a coin collection. Just gone, our Bella we had cremated last year. She was 14 years old a shitszu Chihuahua, we had her 14 years she passed of congested heart failure. Her ashes are now mixed in the rubble and ash of our lives that's left. We can't rebuild because the owner of the property died before giving us our deed and the estate doesn't want to acknowledge us as owners so we were court ordered off the property didn't get all of the things we had stored that the fire didn't get to. Didn't have time to grieve and deal with the shock of losing everything my livelihood I'm a gig worker my laptop and headset and hot spot destroyed. My husband retired in January but the package we had to fill out and return went up in the fire along with all documents needed to be in the package. My husband called his Union to resend another package but it has not arrived yet. Red Cross helped us with some things and then closed our case and now we are currently living in a beat up falling apart Toyota Tundra 2007 we barely can get gas for it. We cannot go to a shelter because of our dog and section 8 mainly focuses on apartments and we need rapid RE housing with a house and a yard. I never in a million years would have thought in my 50s I would be living in my truck with My husband and our Big dog. We need a home with a yard another vehicle we can afford the gas in my equipment for the remote gig work I do. We are so shocked with everything that has happened. We have never had to ask for help, we have never had to go on government assistance, this is all new to us. We have always worked and taken of our lives. Please if anyone can help us get back to stable normal living we would be completely grateful. We do we had a routine and a day to day life and now we sleeping in the truck. Thank you for hearing my story and I have been nervous to ask for help probably cause I never had to I really don't know how. So please if anyone reading this has any compassion and empathy for my husband our dog and I please help. We have always been good people, we give to others when we have nothing we follow the rules of God and the universe. I don't understand why this has happened and what to do so thank you for your time and donations if at all possible, I wasn't built to live in the broke down truck.
