URGENT REQUEST FOR FOOD AND MEDICINES – US$200
Dear Friends and Kind Supporters,
My name is WMS Rohan Gunarathne, from Sri Lanka. I am writing this appeal with a deeply heavy heart and with great humility because I have reached a point in my life where I urgently need help simply to manage my basic food, medicines, and day-to-day necessities.
Over the past year, my life has been devastated by a series of tragic circumstances that I never imagined I would have to face.
Last December, the Ditwah tornado/disaster brought terrible destruction and tragedy into my life. I lost my beloved wife and family members, leaving me to face an unimaginable level of grief and loneliness. The loss of the people closest to me has been emotionally devastating, and the consequences of that tragedy continue to affect my life every day.
While I was already struggling to cope with this tremendous loss, I subsequently suffered a Russell’s viper bite. The incident seriously affected my health and left me needing medical attention, medicines, rest, and proper nourishment. Recovering physically while carrying the emotional pain of losing my family has been extremely difficult.
Today, I am not asking for luxury, comfort, or anything unnecessary.
I am asking for help to eat, obtain my medicines, and get through this difficult period of recovery.
I am therefore humbly requesting US$200 in emergency assistance.
Even though US$200 may appear to be a small amount, for me at this moment it would provide meaningful relief. It could help me purchase essential medicines, nutritious food, and other basic necessities while I try to rebuild my life after these devastating experiences.
How your assistance would help
The requested US$200 will be used primarily for:
• Essential medicines and medical expenses
• Nutritious food while recovering from the snake bite
• Basic household and personal necessities
• Immediate living expenses during this difficult period
I know that many people around the world are also experiencing financial difficulties. Therefore, I do not take anyone's kindness for granted.
