I have about 30,000 USD worth of student debt I would like to pay off. I tried grad school, but did not make it through, so I am under-qualified to work in my field and overqualified to work elsewhere due to my Bachelor's Degree.
My plan:
1. Pay off student debt.
2. Work online
2a. Set up website for online business.
2b. Take a class to be able to take a certification test (costs about 1500 USD total)
2c. Take certification test
3. Pay for living costs in the meantime
Ideally
4. Pay for own house in lower cost place so no rent needs to be paid in the future and lower living cost of area makes paycheck go further (ideally house costs about 80000 USD or lower).
5. Invest savings intelligently.
6. Donate a percentage of income made to good causes to give back
I just need a start. I mainly need to pay off student debt, a couple other smaller debts, and rent coming up. Ideally sooner rather than later. I believe I have learned my lessons and have a plan to manage the money so I do not get into financial trouble again. In addition, I hope to make enough to help out others in need.
