I am a single mother with 3 small children in need of help. I have been trying to find low income housing but none is available in my area all of the waiting list are closed for section 8 and income based apartments. I draw $733 a month my rent is $650. The rent does include water and up to $75 for power. I was doing fine until I received a high power bill. The ac unit malfunctioned and the heat and air was running at the same time. The landlord said I still have to pay half of the power bill which is $150. I am very tight on money. If the ac wouldn't have malfunctioned I wouldn't be in this mess. I've tried to seek financial assistance from local churches and the salvation army in my area but the funds are already exhausted by the time they receive funding again the eviction will already be processed. I have until June 16 to come up with $150 for the power bill. Please help if you can. Thank you.
