Do need a LONG GUN for target practice!

Long story short my dad had me use my fingers to do background checks in person (he was not physically with me in 2022) where I purchased the gun, I was under a influence he wanted me to keep it in my room (he was ok with that) then, manipulation from my mom made me question my choices and she said its !mine and dad bought it for me not him... Nope he bought it, I did fingerprint for background check because he's been denied in past due to over 20 years ago issues that was a misdemeanor in California but we live in Oregon. Where I'm allowed to gift a gun however NOW I want my OWN GUN to use for hunting so we can eat (realistically target practice as hobby) for a few months before I hunt!
