I recently divorced my ex-husband to get out of a terrible cycle of negativity and mental abuse and left everything behind. All the furniture and money I put into a new house, I left just so I could get myself and my two daughters out of that situation. Unfortunately, he wanted joint custody, but I was able to have them more often than him in the divorce. Their smiling faces and my being able to be a happier parent made it all worth it, but as a teacher, I am struggling to make ends meet and provide them with essentials. On top of teaching, I have been supplementing by working for Amazon whenever my daughters are not home with me, but money is still pretty tight.
