My family is in a situation that is like a 700% interest payday loan. In January I had lost my job. I was the main support for my household. My husband does what he can, but due to a mistake he made years ago, acquiring gainful employment is difficult. So he does side jobs as he can get them, working on cars, making household repairs, yard work, laborer on job sites as he can find them. Needless to say, it does not pay the bills or rent in full or on time. I looked for another job but it took some time to get one. We tried to work with our landlord and he tried to work with us, for a time. I eventually found another job in May. Doesn't pay what my previous job did, but grateful all the same to have income coming in. In my first week on the job, my landlord evicted us. With no where to go we had to stay in a motel. We have been living out of a motel since. The motel is not exactly safe. I fear daily for our and our daughters safety. My entire check pays for the hotel room and my husband does what he can to earn money for food and basic hygiene supplies and laundry. Saving money is impossible, hence the payday loan reference. We have finally found a landlord willing to rent to us despite the eviction. But we are having trouble coming up with all the money we need to move in. We have sold everything of value we had (tvs, game systems and such), but it still was not enough. We still need $1470.00. We need this money by 8/25. I have one more check on the 25th. If we have the money we need minus what my check will cover then I won't have to pay for anymore nights at the hotel. We will have the keys that day and your name in my daily prayers. Now I do have a skill I can offer you for your donation. I am a decently talented graphics artist. Need invitations designed or an ad, I'm your girl. Or how about a book cover or a logo design or redesign, poster or wall artwork. I can do anything that requires a digital design comparable to your donation amount.
