My name is Kelly, I am a 58 year old lady living in the Sandhills of Nebraska in a tiny rural town. Long story short: I have recently been diagnosed with a rare Autoimmune disease DERMATOMYTOTIS TIFI GAMMA POSITIVE, positive means high percentage of malignancy somewhere in my body, I am going thru several cancer screenings at this time. Along with this disease I have 31 pounds of inflammation in my body, scalding burning skin infections, DVT's both legs, severe shortness of breath, muscle degeneration, Chronic anxiety and depression, and the list goes on.
With this rare disease ( there is no cure) There is not a specialist anywhere close so I have now been referred to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. I am asking for assistance to get there ( 600 miles one way) My insurance does not cover travel expenses, My small savings is gone as i had to leave my job last Sept 2023, I have tried the local church with zero luck, There is not any resources for me. I do not have a large family, I do not have any close friends due to the way i look and my high anxiety, I am asking for fuel and lodging funds, Its heartbreaking to have to turn to strangers online. I worked Hospice for 14 years helping patients and their family's deal with the end of life, Now I am the one alone.
