Help Me and My Children Move Into a Stable Home

I am a working mother of two children asking for help raising $5,000 for first and last month’s rent and moving expenses. We need a stable place to live, and the upfront cost of moving is more than I can manage with my current income.

We have been experiencing homelessness and staying in a motel while I search for an apartment. I am grateful we have had somewhere to stay, but it is temporary, and I desperately want to give my children the security of a home again. Having a place where we can unpack, cook meals, and settle into a normal routine would mean so much to our family.

I work part time and am doing what I can to move us forward. Unfortunately, my income is limited, and keeping up with everyday expenses while trying to save enough to move has been incredibly difficult. The biggest obstacle is coming up with the money needed upfront. Even when I find an apartment within our budget, getting through the door requires money I simply do not have available.

My goal is to raise $5,000 to put toward first and last month’s rent, moving our belongings, and the basic expenses involved in getting settled. The exact costs will depend on the apartment we secure. Any money raised will go toward helping us make that move and establish a stable home.

As a mother, it hurts to know that I cannot fix this as quickly as my children need me to. I am trying to keep their lives as consistent as possible while carrying the worry of where we will live. I want them to be able to focus on school, feel comfortable in their own space, and have the everyday stability that every child deserves.

Asking strangers for help is difficult, but I am reaching out because we need a chance to get past this financial barrier. I am continuing to work and search for housing. Help with these upfront expenses would allow those efforts to turn into something concrete: a home for my family.
