I am a prior foster youth who graduated high school but struggled with drug addiction and became a victim of sex trafficking. I moved away to Florida where I was able to turn my life around and stay sober for four years.However, with the onset of the COVID pandemic and my partner getting arrested, I relapsed. My baby was taken at birth, despite negative drug screens except for one. I received counseling but had a difficult time dealing with case management due to understaffing, which made it hard for me to become an advocate for myself and my son.After six months, I was able to reunite with my son, thanks to my hard work and dedication to staying clean. For the past nine months, I have continued to stay sober and be the best mother I can be. However, I am facing a new challenge: finding safe and affordable housing for myself and my son.Despite applying to all available state resources for housing assistance and calling every agency in Brevard, I have not been able to secure a suitable home. I currently rent a one-bedroom unit, but with the current housing boom, my previous home was sold, and I have no option to renew the lease.I am reaching out to you, my community, for help. My name is AmberLynn & I am a newly single mama of 2 amazing kiddos (12 & 4 years old) as of May 2023 we are homeless… We currently are sleeping in the back of our Chevy Tahoe. I’m left with no option than to reach out to strangers for help because nobody around me has enough to spare to help me with the hernia surgery that I seriously need right away. I am a retired computer teacher from Nigeria and have been totally broke since I left active duty. The problem with me is that I learnt the computer in 1989 after my secondary education when all you can do to make money was either to teach the Knowledge or become a typist. Because I suddenly became a "celebrity" by teaching simple computer operations skills to others and because to continue my education was not feasible, I took it as my final means of livelihood and never looked back since then. I have an amazing photo album that will greatly impress you to show for this.
For almost 30 years I was teaching basic computer literacy to people and never bothered to improve my skill until the need for entry level computer training went became outdated and people began seeking job-ready skills as a result of the progressive evolvement of IT. I did not bother about the upgrade because I planned to run a formal secondary school after I left teaching computer. If you put my name in Google search you'll find whatever is left of my digital footprint online to include my registration of some educational institutions. I still possess the government issued certificates for this entities and can send you copies as prove of my ambitious hope that I still intend to pursue. However this enterprises are not "working YET” in spite of the efforts I’ve expended on it. This is why I then decided to upgrade my IT skills by taking online courses but my laptop was stolen from a place where I used to take it for charging because I don't have an electric generator when the government electricity is disrupted sometimes for days. With this I became helpless and went to take a security job which can hardly feed me properly.
On top of this, I have now developed hernia which causes serious pain and weakness for me as a result of which I was stopped at my security job. This has now become a serious issue as the hernia keeps growing everyday and I am constantly hungry because I have been stopped at work. My plan before was to come online to solicit for help to get a new laptop and upgrade my IT skills so I could go back to teaching but this life threatening condition of health has surpassed that as I must first operate and rid myself of this hernia. It is for this that I am soliciting for help to facilitate the surgery which cost about $200 inclusive of the medicare after the operation. I’m standing by to prove the authenticity of this request to whomever requires such.

I posted a few days ago.
Since then, my heart was stomped on, because the only responses I got were from spammers trying to scam me out of money that I don't even have.
My home was suddenly taken from me in a fire last week. Myself, my partner and our 8 month old puppy barely made it out alive. We were very lucky. However, we only made it out with what we were wearing, no shoes, no socks, not even a leash our dog. We don't have a car. Due to the recent devastation in the state we live in, we are unable to get any help from the state. And all of the shelters are full as well. We also can't get help with a place to stay because we have a large breed dog, even though he is the sweetest. We don't have any family, none of the people in our lives have the means to help us. Which is very unfortunate especially considering that our entire lives, we have never hesitated to help anyone we could. But now being in this situation, I now wish that I went out of my way to help a stranger in my situation. Because i know what it would truly do for someone whos gone through a tragedy like this. I know that it would maybe make their world a little brighter for once.. I'm not stupid....I know that the chance of anyone helping me is slim to none. But I have to try because I don't have any way to feed my dog, let alone my partner or myself. We havent eaten in days. We will never leave our dog, ever, so we will continue to sleep in ATM breezeways and under bridges just so we can stay together. But I am here, begging, someone plase, have it in your heart to help me. I have nowhere else to turn. whether its 50 cents, 50 dollars or 1000$, we need dog food, a place to stay, clothes, shoes, at the very least we need some kind of blanket or tarp for when we sleep under these bridges, like we are tonight. My best friend is homeless and in a lot of debt. My best friend is stuck living in a rental car in Rhode Island and barely has any money to eat or do anything. I want to help my best friend by letting my best friend live with me in my apartment in my hometown. But, I don't have enough to help my best friend pay off the debt they owe. Gasoline isn't cheap, all of my friend's things are in storage units that my best friend won't have access to unless my best friend pays the fees to keep all of their belongings so their storage unit doesn't go up for auction. My best friend needs to pay off their phone bill, and storage units. My best friend needs money for food, car rental fees, gasoline, a hotel, more clothes, and a moving U-haul truck that can carry a car as well.
