Anything to help with car repair costs
I never imagined I'd find myself in a position where I would be asking strangers for financial help. I've always been the kind of person who figures things out, who finds a way to make things work, even when the odds are stacked against me. I've spent most of my adult life taking care of others, both personally and professionally. Asking for help has never come naturally to me, but I've reached a point where I genuinely don't know what else to do.
I'm a single mom to an incredible 10 year old girl. She's funny, wildly energetic, fiercely independent, and has a heart bigger than she knows what to do with. She's also neurodivergent and has faced more challenges in her short life than many adults ever will. She's had to navigate trauma, bullying, mental health struggles, and a world that doesn't always understand how her brain works.
My daughter is my entire world. Everything I do, every decision I make, revolves around trying to give her the stability, security, and opportunities she deserves.
For over a decade, I worked in veterinary medicine. I dedicated my career to caring for animals, advocating for those who couldn't speak for themselves, and helping families through some of their most difficult moments. I loved being able to make a difference. Unfortunately, a work related injury resulted in a permanent disability and it changed everything. Chronic pain and physical limitations have left me unable to return to the career I worked so hard to build. Lately, it feels like everything is falling apart at once.
I am facing a few financial crisis situations all at once. One being my vehicle. Recently, it developed a serious mechanical problem, leaving me facing repairs costing thousands of dollars. Ironically, I had just made the final loan payment this year and thought I would get a tiny bit of room to breathe in my monthly budget. For a lot of people, a vehicle is a convenience. For us, it's essential. It's how I get my daughter to appointments, activities, and the services she depends on. With my physical limitations and our circumstances, losing reliable transportation would create yet another enormous obstacle.
I budget carefully. I stretch every dollar. I put off things I need for myself. I can't remember the last time I made a purchase without mentally calculating what else that money could have paid for. If you're in a position to help, even a small amount would mean more than I can adequately express. And if you're not, I understand completely. Thank you for taking the time to read my request.
