Tried Stocks, Side Hustles… Now Looking Into Consumption Mutual Funds – Worth It?
#1
Hey everyone!
I’ve tried a few money-making ideas over the past couple of years — trading, freelancing, even dropshipping — but now I’m diving into the world of mutual funds. And after reading tons of articles, I came across something interesting: Consumption mutual funds.
These funds invest in companies tied to consumer behavior — like FMCG, retail, autos, electronics, and lifestyle brands. Makes sense, right? As people spend more, these businesses grow. And if you’re invested in them through consumption funds, you grow too — in theory, at least.
So, here I am in this awesome "Other Money-Making Ideas" section, hoping to get real advice from folks who are already exploring this route. I’m not asking as an expert — just a curious mind looking for smarter ways to grow money.
From what I gather, Consumption mutual funds are thematic. That means higher risk, but also targeted growth potential. I’ve seen some solid historical returns, but I know past performance isn’t everything.
That’s why I’m leaning toward starting a SIP (Systematic Investment Plan). A Best SIP approach might reduce volatility and make it easier to stay invested over time. But I’d love to know how others are doing it.
Also, if anyone here has already invested, which one would you say is the best consumption mutual fund right now? There are a few options, and choosing one feels overwhelming.
Here are my main questions:
  • Has anyone here used consumption funds to build wealth successfully?
  • What’s your honest take — is this just another hype, or something sustainable?
  • Do you recommend SIP over lump sum for themed investments like this?
  • Which fund do you personally consider the best consumption mutual fund?
I appreciate any feedback, tips, or experiences you can share. Let’s make this thread a helpful one for anyone exploring new income ideas beyond the usual!
