Evolution of video games
#1
Hi! I've been thinking recently about how much video games have changed over the past few decades, from simple pixel arcades to complex open worlds with cinematic graphics and non-linear storylines. It's especially interesting how technology has affected not only the visuals, but also the approach to gameplay and player engagement. What do you think has been the most significant change in the evolution of video games for you personally?

Great question! I personally follow the development of video games with interest, and when I look back, I realize what a grandiose path this industry has come. For me personally, the most significant change was the emergence of deep emotional involvement. Previously, games were mainly about points, levels and reaction speed, and now they can tell stories, touch the soul, make you think. I would say that the development of plots, characters and moral choices was the main breakthrough for me. Recently I found a great article https://roboticsbiz.com/evolution-of-vid...-triumphs/. It describes well how not only technologies have changed, but also the perception of video games in society. If you are interested not just in nostalgia, but in an analysis of the entire path of the industry - a must read.
