I’m working on restoring some acrylic panels that have surface scratches. I want to know the most effective and safe ways to get scratches out of acrylic without damaging the material further.
Are there specific polishing compounds or DIY methods that work best? Also, how do professionals handle deeper scratches on acrylic sheets? Any product recommendations or step-by-step tips would be appreciated.

I recommend using a plastic polish specifically get scratches out of acrylic. Buff gently with a microfiber cloth to avoid haze.Toothpaste can sometimes work on very light scratches; make sure to use a non-gel variety.
Avoid harsh chemicals like acetone as they can cause permanent damage to acrylic.For deeper scratches, consider a fine grit sandpaper followed by polishing compounds, but this takes patience.
Always clean the surface before polishing to avoid grinding dirt into scratches.Rotary tools with polishing pads help if you’re experienced, but be cautious with speed and pressure.
If scratches are too deep, replacing the acrylic may be the best option to maintain clarity.
