Support My Son's Education: IAL Exam Fees - deepani atapattu - 07-24-2025 Dear Sir/Madam, Dear Kind-Hearted Supporters, I am writing this letter with a heavy heart, hoping that someone, somewhere, will hear the silent cries of a mother who is struggling to hold her family together. My name is AMDK Atapattu. I am a mother of two precious children, and today I find myself in a situation where my strength alone is no longer enough. My eldest son is preparing for his Edexcel International Advanced Level (IAL) examinations this October. He has already completed six units in Mathematics, ICT, and Physics—subjects he loves deeply and excels in. But now, the remaining 10 units stand between him and the future he dreams of. The exam fees for these units total $850, a sum that feels unreachable right now. Not because we don’t care—quite the opposite. It breaks my heart knowing that my son, who works so hard, might be held back not because of his ability, but because of our poverty. My husband has been gravely ill for a long time. He can no longer work, or even take part in daily life. I am the only one left to care for him, for our children, and to somehow keep everything together. I try—I truly try—but I am exhausted. I juggle our survival each day while also paying off a housing loan and trying to give my younger child the education every child deserves. I watch my son study late into the night with tired eyes and so much hope. He never complains. He never asks for anything. And still, I see the weight he carries, knowing our financial struggles may crush his dreams. That’s why I am writing to you, with tears in my eyes and pain in my chest—not for myself, but for my son. I am begging for your help. Please, if you are able, consider helping us with a donation—however small—to cover his exam fees. Your kindness could open a door that poverty is trying to shut. You would not just be giving money; you would be giving hope, and a chance for a child to change his life and our future. If you are unable to donate, even sharing our story with someone who might be able to help would mean the world to us. Thank you for reading this letter. Thank you for taking a moment to see us, to care, and perhaps to help. With a mother’s deepest gratitude, AMDK Atapattu Paypal : deepani.atapattu.pnd@gmail.com PayPal.Me/amdkatapattu |
