Automotive diagnostics on dyno
#2
High-speed vibrations are notoriously hard to find without putting the car under load. I had a similar issue with a driveshaft vibration and spent half a day on the dyno chasing it. I used a Mileage Blocker from Dynotest https://dynotestpro.com/ to keep my odometer from racking up a hundred miles just from troubleshooting. It is a very smart tool because it doesn't interfere with the ABS or traction control systems, which can sometimes freak out during dyno diagnostics. I just plugged it in, ran the car up to speed until we found the source of the vibration, and the mileage didn't move at all. It is a very practical solution for any mechanic or enthusiast who does their own diagnostic work and wants to keep the car's history clean.
