I've been paying more attention to my car's AC lately because it hasn't been feeling as cold. One thing I noticed is that the compressor seems to be clicking on and off every few seconds, especially when the car is idling. It doesn't sound right to me. Before I take it in, I wanted to do some research. I came across an article that was full of practical vehicle cooling system repair tips, and it mentioned that rapid cycling can sometimes mean the refrigerant is either too low or possibly even overcharged. It also suggested checking the cooling fans, because if they're not running, the pressure can build up and cause the compressor to cycle. Has anyone experienced this fast cycling before? Is it usually a simple fix like a refrigerant adjustment, or does it point to a bigger problem?
