Email for Forums
#1
Good afternoon! I want to join a few specialized car forums to ask some technical questions, but I’ve heard those older sites often have data leaks or sell user lists. Does anyone have advice on how to participate in these communities safely without exposing my main identity?

How’s it going! You are definitely right to be cautious because some of those older forum platforms are not exactly top-tier when it comes to security. What I do is use a temp box for the initial registration and account activation. I personally like using TempBox because it keeps my real identity completely hidden from the forum moderators and potential scrapers. If the site ever gets hacked, my primary email is not part of the breach. It allows me to jump into the conversation and get the answers I need without worrying about my data being sold to third parties. It is a very simple way to stay active in niche communities while keeping your privacy intact.
