My mother is 63 years old & she has Colon cancer. She uses a colostomy bag, the bag needs to be now removed & she had scheduled surgeries for literally 2 years now but the hospital keeps pushing back the dates & now it's getting really frustrating. She went in on September 5th last year & the hospital pushed it to May 9th, she went it on the said date & it was pushed back again, when she went back they said they didn't have a specific tool to do the surgery (a skin stapler) so she had to buy it with her own money then the surgery was pushed back again, she then got the stapler & went it on the given date then they told her that they gave her the wrong date, it's really frustrating. The public health system in Jamaica is horrible but we also don't have enough money to use private doctors & this is why I'm here try to raise funds so my mother can get her surgery done. $1000 USD would be a good enough amount. I'm a 23 year old who enjoys photography on my free time. I'm originally from New York City but about a year ago me and my family moved to Scranton, PA. Due to circumstances in my life, I've never had the opportunity to attend college, but now I finally do which I'm extremely grateful for, although I have to admit it has not been easy for me at all, going back to college after 5 years being out of school has been a challenge. 

I'm a Business Management student, I do have a part time work-study job, but my weekly hour limit is only 10 hrs a week and minimum wage here in PA is $7.25 an hour, so you can imagine, there's not much I can do with that. I also contribute half my earnings to help my parents out. I have been trying to get a second job outside of campus for the past year, but employment in Scranton is very hard, especially if you don't own a car. I've tried to use the public transportation but it's extremely unreliable and employers here require for you to have reliable transportation. 

I had money saved before to buy a car, but I had given it to my parents for the closing costs of the house we bought. So basically I have nothing now, my family have their own expenses and things to worry about, so they can't help me out either, I can't get another job because everyone in this place needs to own a car and if they don't the chances of them being hired are zero to none. This has been giving me anxiety lately because I already have so much on my plate to worry about and I've completely ran out of options so I'm in quite the predicament here and could really use any help! I'm hoping I can reach my goal by February or March. Please consider helping out a hopeless fellow college student who's struggling by giving any amount you can give, I would really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart!
